We like for new starters to join our Foundations sessions before starting with the Group Classes. In these sessions you will be shown how to perform the majority of the functional movements that we use in CrossFit. There are 7 sessions that you can complete as many times as you feel you need. We advise new starters to attend 3 sessions a week. so that when you graduate to the Group sessions, you are confident in your ability to take part in the sessions and start to focus on the Workout Of the Day with confidence.
These are the cornerstone of what we do at CrossFit Dawn. CrossFit is a fitness program designed using constantly varied, functional movement performed at a relative high intensity. As a truly functional program, we design our daily workouts to be scaled up-or down-to be accessible to all populations. If you’re just starting out, we recommend coming three days/week for your first couple weeks, then build to four, then five. Once you’re up to five days per week, we recommend building in two recovery days per week.
We also Open Gym hours five times per week. This is an opportunity for our members to perform some independent programming, while a coach monitors their training, in an environment that doesn’t interfere with normal group classes. This class style is hugely successful and very appreciated, especially by our most senior members.
Barbell Club is a CrossFit Dawn club comprised of current members looking to improve their Olympic lifting skills and strength training. This club allows members to focus on powerlifting or Olympic lifting outside normal class times. We meet on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. The club is small, only consisting of 12 official spots, and is on a 12 week cycle. The Barbell Club is perfect for beginners as well as advanced athletes.
